Dental students demand reverting to four year course plus-internship
After dropping the 1 year internship for dental students in 2007, Dental Council of India(DCI) has now decided to revive back the 1 year internship for the students. BDS was made a 5 year complete classroom program in 2007 mainly because of the lack of seriousness of the students, says DCI.India produces 23,380 dentists ever year from 249 private and 40 government colleges jointly.
Chaos continued to rein for the second consecutive day at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) counselling for post graduate medical seats.Several seats available in the previous round were found missing the seat matrix and the goof-up brought the counselling to a halt on Sunday

The City Crime Branch (CCB) of police has unearthed a medical seat selling scam at the City’s Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) said to involve nearly Rs 300 crore and arrested the president of the Vokkaligara Sangha and some others.

The CBI today carried out searches at the premises of former President of Dental Council of India Anil Kohli here after registering a disproportionate assets case against him. A CBI spokesman said a case was registered against the former DCI President yesterday after the agency finished its initial probe into the complaint filed against him for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
